Youth Services and Sports district Ganderbal held inter Panchayat sports events.
According to an official statement, “block level rural sports competitions under Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan (RGKA) were conducted in block Lar and Kangan of district Ganderbal on 3rd and 4th September 2015 in which around 1500 boys and girls participated.”
Teachers of various schools besides Panchs and Sarpanchs of various Panchayats attended concluding functions to give away trophies and medals to the meritorious players of both blocks.
“These inter Panchayat competitions were organized by the respective zonal sports officers of the Youth Services and Sports Department, District Ganderbal with an aim to improve pool of sports persons at grass root level of the rural areas,” a statement said on Saturday.
The district level competitions for winner & runner up teams of all blocks of district Ganderbal will be held on 10th of this month.
