A woman attempted to end her life by consuming some poisonous substance in district Budgam while a boy died in a road accident in Bandipora, police said Saturday evening.
In an attempt to end her life, a 45 years old woman (name withheld) resident of Melhora, Budgam consumed some poisonous substance at her home. The lady has been shifted to the SMHS Hospital, Srinagar for treatment.
A boy died while five others were injured in different road accidents across the valley.
In Bandipora, an Alto car hit and injured a boy identified as Imran Ahmed Ganie son of Mohammad Sultan Ganie resident of Naidkhai at Naidkhai, Sumbal. The injured was shifted to JVC Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries.
In Kulgam, a Truck bearing registration number JK02W/0017 hit and injured a pedestrian identified as Rambir Singh Son-in-Law of Garib Singh resident of Palpora on Srinagar-Jammu Highway near Nepora Mirbazaar. The injured has been shifted to District Hospital Islamabad for treatment.
In Sopore, a vehicle (709) bearing registration number JK09/9988 hit a motorcycle bearing registration number JK01M/1293 near Petrol Pump Seloo, resulting in injuries to motorcyclist Javaid Ahmed Waza son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Dursoo Rafiabad. The injured was shifted to SMHS Srinagar for treatment.
In Islamabad, a Scooty bearing registration number JK01D/4666 hit and injured a pedestrian Nazir Ahmed son of Abdul Aziz resident of Nilpora Kulgam on Eidgah road Bijbehara. The Scooty rider Nameed Ahmed Nada and a pillion Zahid Ahmed Rather son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Sirhama were also injured in this incident. All the injured have been shifted to the hospital for treatment.
