Saksena, a 2015-batch Indian Police Service officer of the AGMUT cadre, was earlier transferred from the Jammu and Kashmir segment to Delhi by the Ministry of Home Affairs as part of a cadre reshuffle.

The officer has held a number of significant positions during his tenure in Jammu and Kashmir, including Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kathua and SSP Kupwara. He also served as SSP at the Crime Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters in Jammu and as SSP Security for Jammu and Kashmir.

Known for handling sensitive law-and-order and security assignments, Saksena gained extensive experience in border and counter-insurgency districts during his service in the Union Territory.

A law graduate from Uttar Pradesh, Saksena joined the IPS after clearing the Union Public Service Commission’s Civil Services Examination and was allotted the AGMUT cadre as a direct recruit.

His appointment as DCP Outer North Delhi places him in charge of policing one of the capital’s largest districts, encompassing a vast urban and rural population and several strategically important areas.
