Life was paralysed in Islamabad town in south Kashmir on Saturday, due to complete strike against the continued arrest of Mirwaiz South Kashmir, Qazi Yasir, who has been admitted in a hospital after suffering minor heart attack yesterday.

Shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the road in the town and parts of outskirts. However, some private vehicles were plying.

Work in government offices, banks and private institutions was affected due to strike, called by the followers of Qazi Yasir and supported by a number of other organisations.

They are demanding immediate release of Mirwaiz Yasir, who is under detention for the past two weeks.
