SRINAGAR

J&K Bank convened a District Level Review Committee meeting at Rest House in Chawalgam Kulgam, which was chaired by DDC Kulgam Jahangir Ahmad Mir. The meeting was attended by AGM RBI Satbir Singh, Asstt. Director Planning Mohd Shafi, district coordinators of banks, district officers/representatives of line departments and people from media.

Highlighting the figures LDM Kulgam G N Dar said that during the first half of the current Fiscal 33% of District Credit Plan was achieved.

The CD Ratio of the district was 71.72% at the end of the half-year ended September, 2013. During the period under review, the Banks have disbursed 136 Crore to 10715 Beneficiaries out of which 117.24 Crore have been disbursed in priority sector accommodating as many as 9233 beneficiaries which includes disbursement of Rs 94.07 Crore  to 7733 beneficiaries in agriculture, Rs 10.21 Crore  to 645 beneficiaries in Micro & Small Enterprises (MSME).

Speaking on the occasion, DDC stressed upon the banks and other line departments to put in further efforts for achieving targets well in time.

Meanwhile, 117 Villages stand covered by the Banks under Financial Inclusion programme. Also, under KCC 5252 agriculturalists/horticulturists have been covered during the period.

Kupwara Camps

In collaboration with the bank’s B/U Kral-gund Kupwara, the Bank’s FLCC Kupwara organised an awareness camp at   Gund Chabutra in Qaziabad.

The camp was attended by a good number of people representing cross-section of the society.

Speaking on the occasion, Facilitator Kupwara informed the audience about the procedures of opening different accounts with the bank while explaining importance of saving with and borrowings from the banks for better future.

Head B/U Kral-gund also spoke on the occasion.

Customer Meet

The bank conducted a customer meet at B/U Gund, which was organised by Cluster Office Ganderbal to discuss the issues and grievances of customers wherein customers from all walks of life were present.

Cluster Head Ganderbal Abdul Hamid Khan presided over the meeting.

The participants appreciated the role of bank in serving the customers despite large footfall at the branch.

Head B/U Gund presented the vote of thanks in the end.

Baramulla camps

J&K Bank FLCC Center Baramulla organized an awareness camp in Nowpora Tujjar (Block Zaingeer) in collaboration with Horticulture Department Bomai. A good number of people from a cross-section of society attended the camp.

Facilitator FLCC informed the participants that the purpose of such camps was to make them understand the basics of banking and finance so that they are able to avail the benefits of financial development.

Besides bank’s basic functions, he explained to them various products and schemes of the bank tailored for their economic well being.

Earlier Horticulture Development Officer deliberated upon the services being provided by the department for the better quality production of apple and other fruits in the area.

Meanwhile, the center participated in a training programme organised by J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) for the educated unemployed youth selected for Seed Capital Fund Scheme under SKEWPY at Government Degree College Baramulla.

Head B/U Khwaja Bagh also spoke on the occasion and informed the participants about the bank’s Seed Capital Fund Scheme under SKEWPY.
