Police on Sunday said that in a breakthrough in anti-militant operations, Baramulla Police along with 46 RR thwarted the designs of Jaish-e-Muhammad of reviving its operations in Baramulla, by arresting an operative who was member of a Jaish module.

Police added in a statement that on a specific information, Baramulla police along with 46 RR launched a joint operation and arrested one Javaid Ahmad Dar son of  late Mohammad Akber Dar resident of  Khanpora Baramulla.

Police claimed that one Pistol, a magazine and 10 rounds were recovered from him.

“Javaid was recently assigned a key role by local Jaish commanders for reviving militancy in and around Baramulla town,” Police statement said.

FIR number 366/13 under section 7/25 Arms Act has been registered in this regard and further investigations are on.
