SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir-born IAS officer Arjun Gupta, a 2024-batch officer of the AGMUT cadre, has been posted as Joint Commissioner (Industries) in Delhi with immediate effect.
Gupta, who hails from Trikuta Nagar in Jammu and has roots in Ramkot village of Kathua, secured All India Rank 32 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023.
He holds an Integrated BS-MS degree in Economics from IIT Kanpur. Before joining the civil services, Gupta worked as a business analyst with McKinsey and Company.
He had secured All India Rank 1 in the Indian Economic Service examination in 2022. He later cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination and joined the Indian Police Service before appearing again for the examination and securing selection to the IAS.
Following his training, Gupta was initially posted as Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Women and Child Development in New Delhi on August 6, 2026.
His latest assignment is as Joint Commissioner (Industries) under the Delhi Government, where he will take up the post with immediate effect.
