SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a weather advisory forecasting intermittent spells of rain and thundershowers across Jammu and Kashmir between June 22 and 30, with moderate to heavy rainfall expected, particularly in the Jammu Division.
According to the forecast, June 22 is expected to remain generally cloudy with light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places and intense showers in isolated locations.
Between June 23 and 24, brief spells of rain or thundershowers are likely at scattered places. A more active weather phase is expected from June 25 to 27, with intermittent moderate rain and the possibility of heavy rainfall in parts of the Jammu Division.
Rain activity is likely to continue from June 28 to 30, with scattered showers across the region.
The MET Centre has also issued a warning for flash floods, especially in vulnerable areas during 22nd and between June 25 and 27. There is a heightened risk of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones on hilly roads, prompting caution for residents and travellers, particularly in flood-prone and mountainous terrain.
Authorities and the public have been advised to remain alert and avoid venturing into vulnerable zones during periods of intense rainfall.
