SRINAGAR: A father and son lost their lives in a road accident in the Rajarwani area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday after the vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident.
According to reports, an Alto K10 car bearing registration number JK05Q-4298 met with an accident at Rajarwani, resulting in the death of the driver, Syed Imtiyaz Hussain Shah (25), son of Syed Ahmad Shah. He died on the spot, officials said.
His father, Syed Ahmad Shah (68), son of Syed Alam Hussain Shah and a retired Sub-Inspector of Police, sustained critical injuries in the accident and was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital Uri for treatment.
However, he later succumbed to his injuries, taking the death toll in the accident to two.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
