SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved the transfer of 671 kanals of land in Samba to the Industries and Commerce Department for developing a Plug-and-Play Industrial Park under the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna (BHAVYA).
The project aims to provide ready-to-use industrial infrastructure, essential services and streamlined approval processes to help businesses establish operations more quickly.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the initiative would strengthen industrial growth in Jammu and Kashmir by attracting fresh investment, supporting local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and encouraging entrepreneurship.
He said the proposed industrial park would also promote balanced regional development and generate employment opportunities for young people, while strengthening the Union Territory’s industrial ecosystem.
The initiative is intended to make industrial infrastructure more accessible to enterprises by reducing the time and effort required to establish operations.
