SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has assigned Dr Nighat Yasmeen, In-charge Deputy Director, Headquarters, Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK), the temporary charge of Director Health Services, Kashmir.
The order, issued by the Health and Medical Education Department on September 7, said Yasmeen will hold the charge in addition to her existing duties until a suitable regular arrangement is made.
According to Government Order No. 676-JK(HME) of 2026, the arrangement has been made to ensure the smooth discharge of administrative responsibilities and effective delivery of patient care.
The department said the assignment is purely temporary and will be subject to the outcome of any writ petition pending before courts of law.
It further clarified that the temporary charge will not confer any right on the officer to claim preferential treatment in matters of seniority, regularisation or promotion, which will be considered strictly under the applicable rules.
