SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has assigned Dr Basharat Amin Kuthu the temporary charge of Director, Sheep Husbandry Department, Kashmir, relieving Dr Moin-Ul-Haq of the additional responsibility.
The order was issued by the Agriculture Production Department on September 17 under Government Order No. 426-JK (APD) of 2026.
Dr Kuthu, who is currently looking after the charge of Joint Director (Extension), Sheep Husbandry Department, Kashmir, will hold the director’s charge in addition to his existing duties.
According to the order, the arrangement has been made for the day-to-day functioning of the department and will remain in force until the post is filled on a regular basis.
The government said the arrangement was purely temporary and would not give Dr Kuthu any preferential right or claim for placement or promotion to the post of Director when it is filled through the regular process.
The department has also retained the authority to withdraw or reverse the arrangement at any time without assigning a reason.
The order further states that the temporary arrangement will remain subject to the outcome of any cases pending before courts of law.
