SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has reconstituted the Board of Directors of the J&K Women’s Development Corporation, with the Minister for Social Welfare designated as the Chairperson of the board.
The General Administration Department (GAD), through Government Order No. 1540-JK(GAD) of 2026 dated September 18, sanctioned the reconstitution of the board, superseding the earlier Government Order No. 681-JK(GAD) of 2020 dated June 26, 2020.
As per the order, the Administrative Secretary of the Finance Department, Administrative Secretary of the Planning, Development and Monitoring Department and Administrative Secretary of the Social Welfare Department will serve as Directors on the board.
The board will also include the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC), New Delhi; the Managing Director of the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC), New Delhi; and the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the National Minorities Finance and Development Corporation (NMFDC), New Delhi, as Directors.
The Managing Director of the J&K Women’s Development Corporation has also been included as a Director on the reconstituted board.
The government order further states that the nomination of non-official members will be issued separately by the Social Welfare Department. The nominations will be solicited from the Government of India as well as from the Chairperson of the Board and will be made strictly in accordance with the Articles of Association of the Corporation.
The order was issued by the General Administration Department on behalf of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and was signed by M. Raju, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government.
