SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir has 24.72 lakh accounts under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), including 14.38 lakh accounts held by women, according to data presented by the Centre in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
The data, provided by the Ministry of Finance in response to a question on the status of various schemes, showed that the Union Territory had 10.34 lakh PMJDY accounts held by men and 14.38 lakh by women as of June 2026.
Under the Atal Pension Yojana (APY), Jammu and Kashmir had 3.16 lakh subscribers, comprising 2.09 lakh men, 1.06 lakh women and 168 transgender subscribers.
The figures were part of the state- and gender-wise progress reported under various financial inclusion and social security schemes of the Ministry of Finance.
The data also showed that J&K had 13.58 lakh cumulative enrolments under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), including 7.74 lakh male and 4.45 lakh female enrolments, while the corresponding figure under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) stood at 31.54 lakh.
Across the country, 58.57 crore PMJDY accounts had been recorded as of June 2026, while APY had 9.29 crore subscribers.
The government said that under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana, 59.14 crore loans amounting to Rs 40.76 lakh crore had been disbursed across the country since the scheme’s inception, as of June 26, 2026.
It also said 1.54 lakh loans worth Rs 22,913 crore had been sanctioned under the Tarun Plus category, introduced in October 2024 for borrowers who had successfully repaid loans under the Tarun category and sought further expansion of their enterprises.
The ministry said measures to ensure the quality and sustainability of MUDRA lending included borrower assessment, KYC compliance, credit guarantee coverage, enhanced monitoring, field visits, digital loan processing and financial literacy programmes.
The NPA ratio under PMMY loans declined from 2.58 per cent in March 2023 to 2.05 per cent in March 2026, according to the data.
