SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police has activated the National General Emergency Response System, Dial 112, across the Jammu zone to provide immediate assistance to people through a single emergency helpline, officials said on Thursday.
The service is available through all police stations in the Jammu zone, enabling people to seek assistance during emergencies, including fire incidents, medical emergencies, cases requiring women’s assistance and disaster-related situations, officials said.
Police have urged the public to use the facility whenever emergency assistance is required.
Posters issued as part of the initiative state that people can dial 112 for immediate assistance in an emergency, irrespective of their location or time.
The activation is aimed at providing a common emergency contact for people seeking police assistance and other emergency support.
