SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir election authorities will hold special camps at all polling station locations on October 24 to enrol eligible voters left out of electoral rolls and help people update their voter details, according to a press note issued by the Chief Electoral Officer on Thursday.
The special drive is being conducted across all Assembly constituencies in the Union Territory to ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer said in the press note dated October 15.
The drive involves 20 District Election Officers, 90 Electoral Registration Officers, 243 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, 1,231 Booth Level Supervisors and 11,860 Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
Booth Level Officers will be available at the special camps to assist eligible residents with voter enrolment and other electoral roll-related services.
People whose names are missing from the electoral roll can apply for inclusion using Form 6 along with the prescribed declaration. Form 7 can be used to raise objections to proposed inclusions or seek deletion of a name from the existing electoral roll.
Form 8 is meant for shifting residence, correcting entries in the electoral roll, replacing an Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) and marking persons with disabilities (PwD).
The Chief Electoral Officer’s office said the campaign would continue to reach eligible voters across Jammu and Kashmir.
People facing difficulties related to electoral rolls or requiring assistance in submitting Form 6 can contact the helpline on 1950 or visit helpdesks at the offices of District Election Officers at the district level and Electoral Registration Officers at the Assembly constituency level during office hours.
The authorities reiterated their commitment to ensuring that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll.
