SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Tourism received the Best Adventure Tourism Destination award at the Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Ahmedabad, where the Union Territory showcased its adventure, cultural and community-based tourism offerings.
JK Tourism participated in the three-day fair, attracting travel trade representatives, tourism stakeholders and visitors. The recognition at the event highlighted the region’s growing profile as an adventure tourism destination.
During the fair, the JK Tourism delegation promoted the Union Territory beyond conventional sightseeing, highlighting its landscapes, snow-capped mountains and lakes as well as its culture, traditions, cuisine, hospitality and local way of life.
The delegation invited travellers from Gujarat and other parts of the country to explore a wider range of experiences in Jammu and Kashmir, including trekking, rafting, skiing, mountaineering and paragliding.
It also showcased homestays, village tourism, heritage experiences and cultural journeys, with particular emphasis on experiential and adventure-based travel opportunities for younger visitors.
The participation highlighted the potential of homestays and community-based tourism to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for local residents while allowing visitors to experience local culture and hospitality.
The TTF Ahmedabad also provided JK Tourism an opportunity to engage with travel operators and other stakeholders from Gujarat and strengthen tourism-related partnerships. The event brought together tourism boards, travel companies, hospitality brands and other industry stakeholders from India and abroad for destination promotion and business networking.
