At least twenty one army soldiers including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) were injured after a vehicle in which they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a george near Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources told GNS said that an army vehicle of 54 RR overturned near Kalsain in Nowshera sector resulting in injuries to 21 soldiers including a JCO.

All the injured were rushed to nearby hospital where from five airlifted to military hospital Udhampur in serious conditions, they said.

Meanwhile, police has registered a case and started further investigations in this regard.

A senior army official while confirming the incident said that the army vehicle skidded off the road near Jhangar in Rajauri resulting in injuries to 21persons traveling in the vehicle.

“The vehicle was carrying army persons for practice firing when the incident happened.  Five injured have been evacuated to Command Hospital at Udhampur and their condition is stable. The others with minor injuries were treated at a local Army hospital”, he said.
