The Hon’ble Court of Additional Special Judge Anti Corruption Kashmir presided over by Additional District and Session Judge Jeema Bashir convicted and sentenced one Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, then Jr. Engineer Block development Office Bandipora to rigorous imprisonment of 4 years and fine of Rs.10, 000 for commission of offences u/s 5(2)r/w 5(1) d of PC Act and two year rigorous imprisonment for commission of offence punishable u/s 161 RPC in case FIR No. 18/2002 P/S VOK.

Accused Mushtaq Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Rashid Wani resident of Chatti Bandipora was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from complainant Mohammad Yousaf Khawaza on June 15, 2002 for processing the bill of said complainant regarding execution of civil works at Onagam Bandipora. The Hon’ble Court was assisted by Syed Sarird Ahmad Andrabi on behalf of prosecution. The Hon’ble Court while awarding the punishment observed that Prosecution has been able to bring home guilt to the accused by establishing the charge against him beyond the shadow of any doubt. The Hon’ble Court directed for sending of accused to Central Jail Srinagar for undergoing the sentence imposed.
