JK Braces for Wet Weather as MeT Predicts Rain, Thunderstorms

   

SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Department on Monday said isolated to scattered rain and thundershowers are likely across Jammu and Kashmir till June 20.

A more active weather system is expected between June 21 and 23, with widespread rain, thundershowers, and cloudy skies forecast across many parts of the Union Territory.

In the last 24 hours, Jammu region witnessed fairly widespread rain with thunder and gusty winds. Jammu city recorded 46.0 mm of rainfall during this period.

Day and night temperatures continued to remain above normal. Most parts of Kashmir recorded daytime temperatures 2–3°C above average, while Jammu saw 1–3°C deviation. Night temperatures were also 1–6°C above normal across both regions.

The lowest minimum temperatures were recorded in Gulmarg at 11.6°C and Banihal at 15.6°C.
