SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has removed the minimum requirement of 20 per cent marks for candidates seeking re-evaluation of their answer scripts, allowing them to apply irrespective of their scores in the concerned subject.
In a notification issued by its Academic Division on Wednesday, the Board said the decision partially modifies its earlier notification dated May 29, 2006, which permitted re-evaluation only in papers where candidates had secured at least 20 per cent of the marks assigned to the subject.
Under the revised provision, candidates can seek re-evaluation regardless of the marks obtained, provided they follow the prescribed procedure and meet the applicable deadline and fee requirements.
The decision covers the Secondary School Examination (Class 10), Higher Secondary Examination Part I (Class 11), Higher Secondary Examination Part II (Class 12), Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) and Jammu and Kashmir State Open School examinations for Classes 10 and 12.
The Board said all other terms and conditions governing re-evaluation, as notified from time to time, would remain unchanged.
