JKP gets 30 President’s Police Medals

SRINAGAR

Ministry of Home Affairs (GOI) Thursday announced President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, Police Medal for Meritorious Service and Police Medal for Gallantry for the year 2014. The Medals are awarded on the eve of Independence Day every year.

Officers awarded President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service are IGP (Traffic) J&K, Muneer Ahmed Khan and DIG, IRP Jammu, Vijay Singh Samyal.

Police Medal for Meritorious Service have been awarded to IGP, T. Punchok, SP, Savita Parihar, Dy. SsP, Parshotum Lal Sharma, Abdul Wahid Giri, Hamid Hussain Choudhary, Mushtaq Ahmed Wani, Rajinder Singh Rahi, Mohammad Ajaz Bhat, Liyakat Ahmed Qadri, Private Secretary to DGP, Pawan Kumar Gupta,  (PS to ADGP Hqr.) Farooq Ahmed, SIs, Ghulam Nabi Rather and Lal Bhat, ASIs, Farooq Ahmed Bhat, Buaditta, Karnail Singh and Zaffar-ullah Mir, HCs, Abdul Salam Bhat and Mohammad Rafiq Wagay.

Awardees of Police Medal for Gallantry include Dy. SsP, Choudhary Iftikhar Ahmed and Rayaz Iqbal Choudhary, Inspectors, Mohammad Manzoor Gojree and Sajad Mir, SI Tabraz Ahmed Khan, Late ASI Kafil Ahmed Mir, HC Sugreev Kumar, Constables, Fayaz Ahmed and Mohammad Sadiq Quershi.

The Director General of Police, K Rajendra Kumar has congratulated the awardees and their families on this joyful occasion. Stressing upon the awardees to reaffirm their commitment towards the public service, he has hoped that such occasions come in their future life again and again.
