SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Real Estate Regulatory Authority (JKRERA) has upgraded its official web portal with an interactive GIS-based project tracker and an online facility for reporting unregistered real estate projects, in a move aimed at improving transparency and protecting homebuyers.
The two new citizen-centric features are intended to provide the public access to verified information about real estate projects and help the Authority check unauthorised developments across Jammu and Kashmir.
The newly integrated Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping tool enables users to locate real estate developments through an interactive map and check the status of projects registered with JKRERA as well as those whose applications are under process.
The map can be accessed through the JKRERA homepage by clicking on the “View on the Map” option.
The Authority has also introduced a “Report Unregistered Project” facility through which citizens can directly lodge complaints about unregistered real estate projects being developed in their vicinity.
To file a complaint, users can visit the JKRERA homepage and select the “Report Unregistered Project” option available in the top menu bar. The complainant is required to provide details of the project and upload photographs of the site as supporting evidence.
JKRERA has urged citizens to use the digital tools to verify the credentials of real estate projects before investing and to report suspected violations to the Authority.
The initiatives, it said, are aimed at promoting a more transparent and secure real estate sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
