SRINAGAR: Journalist Sheikh Mushtaq’s mother passed away during the wee hours today. She was unwell for a long time.
Family sources said Haleema was unwell and breathed her last during the early hours. Her Nimaz-e-Jinaza is being offered at around 8 am. She will be laid to rest in the family’s ancestral graveyard.
Mushtaq, the former Bureau Chief of teh global news gathering agency, Reuters, had already lost his father, following which his mother started remaining unwell. She was bedridden for a long time.
The family, earlier living in Maisuma, now lives in Shivpora, Srinagar.
