Hurriyat Conference (m) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Wednesday said that after consultation among the pro-freedom leadership, it has been decided that the martyr’s day on July 13 would be observed jointly as ‘Youm-e-Tajdeed’ (the day of resolve).

He said at Naqashbandh Sahib, the leaders along with people would offer joint Fath-e-Khwani for the July 13 martyrs following which the pro-freedom leadership would address to the gathering there. He said the leaders along with the people would pay rich tributes to the July 13 martyrs and all martyrs of Kashmir and would reiterate their firm resolves to take the freedom struggle forward to its logical conclusion.

The Hurriyat (M) chairman stated that the pro-freedom leadership decided that in the wake of holy month of Ramzan, no strike call would be announced on the eve of July 13 martyrs day. He appealed people to make the July 13, ‘Youm-e-Tajdeed’ day a success by turning towards Jamia Masjid before noon prayers in large numbers following which the leaders and people would march towards Nasqashbandh Sahib to pay tributes to the martyrs of Kashmir.

Paying rich and glorious tributes to the martyrs of 13 July 1931, Hurriyat Conference (g) Wednesday announced that on 13 July Monday the pro-freedom leadership of Jammu and Kashmir will lead a joint march from Srinagar Jamia Masjid to the martyr’s graveyard and the leaders will address the public gathering there where they will reaffirm their resolve and aware the general public about the importance of the cause.

While announcing for no shutdown call on 13 July (Monday), Hurriyat (g) spokesperson appealed the people to participate in the proposed march in large numbers and give a message to the world that till the achievement of the right to self determination, the Kashmiri nation will continue their fight “against the occupation of India at any cost and in any way.”

“Pro-freedom leadership has decided to take out a joint march on 13 July from Grand Masjid Srinagar to Martyrs Graveyard located at Khanqah-i-Naqishband Sahab in which the entire pro-freedom leadership will be present. On the occasion the Hurriyat leader will speak on the historical perspectives of the 13 July incident and will aware the youths about the importance of this event in the history of freedom movement of Kashmir. The martyrs of 13 July sacrificed their precious lives for the Islam and against the forced occupation of Kashmiris and this process is continue till date. In 1947, we although got rid from the autocratic Dogra rule but the short-sighted leadership of that time once again tossed us in the worst kind of slavery but this time we were into the cruel clutches of India,” he said.

“NC and PDP like organizations have no right to celebrate the 13 July because they have sold out those sacrifices for the power and chair. Hurriyat said that the mission of the martyrs of 13 July 1931 is yet to be accomplished and this process of sacrifices will continue till we see the dawn of freedom and till the India is occupying this land,” he added.
