Justice Pushpendra Singh Bhati Sworn In as Chief Justice of Jammu Kashmir High Court

   

SRINAGAR: Justice Pushpendra Singh Bhati on Wednesday took oath as Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh, with Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena administering the oath at the Shalimar auditorium of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Kashmir.

Saxena, who has been appointed to discharge the functions of the Jammu Kashmir Lieutenant Governor during Manoj Sinha’s leave, administered the oath after the Registrar General of the High Court read out the warrant of appointment issued by the President of India.

Following the reading of the warrant, Justice Bhati took the oath of office and signed the oath roll papers along with the Lieutenant Governor. Saxena subsequently handed over the warrant of appointment to Justice Bhati.

The ceremony commenced with the national song, followed by the National Anthem, and concluded with the rendition of the national song and the National Anthem.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather, cabinet ministers, High Court judges, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, and other senior civil and police officers attended the ceremony.
