Former MP Tariq Hamid Karra who recently resigned from People’s Democratic Party is likely to join Congress party, local news gatherer CNS said.
Quoting sources, it said Congress will nominate Karra as its president in J&K while the incumbent president Ghulam Ahmed Mir will contest Parliament election from Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency.
Karra had resigned from PDP in protest against “civilian killings” in the Kashmir Valley in September this year.
A Congress leader confirmed Karra will soon join the Congress party and he is likely to be the new face of the party in Jammu and Kashmir.
