Kashmir valley is experiencing  cold weather as the mercury dipped in Leh up to -10.7 degree Celsius.

This is the first time this season that the minimum temperature dropped below -10 degrees in the state.

According to Met office, Srinagar, which recorded the first sub-zero night temperature of the season yesterday, did not show much improvement as the minimum temperature remained at -0.6 degree Celsius.

As per Met office in Srinagar however, the day temperature continued to hover around 16 degrees.

A minimum temperature of -3 degrees was recorded in Pahalgam, the hill resort in south Kashmir while as the ski resort of Gulmarg recorded a low of -2.8 degree Celsius. However, the night temperature settled above freezing point in Kupwara town of north Kashmir (0.8 degree Celsius) and Kokernag health resort in south (0.4 degree Celsius).

Met office has forecasted that the weather will remain dry across Kashmir division, including Ladakh, over the next 24 hours.
