The much awaited Langate Premier League, sponsored by a legislature of Langate, today took off with the inaugural match ceremony of the tournament played between Langate and Wahipora Crcket Club.

Speaking on the occasion MLA Langate said that the tournament is an ‘Indigenous’ move and that the game has been ‘politicized’ in valley. “Cricket here is being portrayed as the sign of normalcy but this tourney has not been sponsored by such organizations who give the game a different colour later,” said Er Rashid.  He further stated that the ongoing tournament is a move to reveal to the world that even after the ‘Killing’ more than one lakh people, the talent in the region is still alive.

Er Rasheed further mentioned that the tournament is an attempt so that the talented youth could emerge from the area.

Pertinently more than 126 teams hailing from almost all villages of Langate have made their participation in the tournament.
