Students in five of Kashmir’s 10 districts may not be able to celebrate Teachers Day in schools. They can no more watch Prime Minister Narendra Modi on TV or listen his speech on radio in the school premises. The government has closed schools for the day because of massive rains and looming floods.
Officials sources said schools in government and private sectors shall remain closed on Thursday in Srinagar, Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam and Islamabad. The districts of Shopian and Kulgam had already announced a holiday because of overwhelming situation.
