In an interview with Deutsche Welle’s Urdu services, Pakistan army’s Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant-General Asim Bajwa said, “There is only one major cause of tension between the two countries, and that is the long-standing issue of Kashmir.”

The General said that the developments were being made on diplomatic and political forums to engage India.

“But as a military spokesperson, I would like to say that India poses a threat to Pakistan and so our entire defense mechanism in India-specific,” Bajwa was quoted as saying in the interview.

The Pakistan army’s spokesperson further said if only India is inducted in the NSG it will be a cause of “disturbance of the strategic stability in the region, besides being a step towards discrimination.”
