Blaming Government of India, its army and pro India parties directly responsible for the misery of Kashmiris since 1947, Huriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said the Pro-Indian politicians just for the sake of power exploited Kashmiris for their vested interests, thus leaving their political and economical conditions into a wretched state.
Addressing a huge Friday gathering at the historic Jamia Masjid, Mirwaiz said the people who exploited Kashmiris since 1947, invited Indian army to Kashmir and bartered all the rights and resources including water, power and land to outsiders just to remain in power. He said when Kashmiris were subjected to immense sufferings, torture and hardships these pro-Indian politicians stayed abroad and spend their life in extravaganza and comfort.
The Hurriyat (M) Chairman questioned that how come these pro-Indian politicians claim to be representatives of people when in reality they were mad after power and stripped Kashmiris of their resources and made them economically dependent even for a loaf of bread. In current times, Mirwaiz said when such people are claiming to solve Kashmir issue, they are just deceiving people for their own petty interests.
In reality, he said the pro-Indian politicians are the real collaborators with the Indian Union since they provide legality to occupation under the garb of sham elections.
Mirwaiz said the real pro-freedom leadership of Kashmir has never retracted from their just stand since 1931. He said the entire international community can vouch for their stand and conglomerates demand for right to self determination to Kashmiris. He said those people who signed accord with India and termed Kashmir as internal matter of India should know the truth that Kashmir issue is a reality and it can’t be solved through elections or bilateral dialogue. He said APHC’s stand was clear in this regard that Kashmir issue can either be solved through by implementing UN resolutions or through tripartite dialogue including all the stake holders, India, Pakistan and Kashmiris.
The Hurriyat (M) Chairman said Kashmir issue pertains to destiny, not to chair of power, adding, Hurriyat wants to make it clear that elections can’t change the disputed status of Kashmir. He said that the Hurriyat has already rejected any so called election process and made it clear time and again that it cannot be a substitute to the right of self determination.
Mirwaiz said that the Hurriyat cannot be a mute spectator to the miseries of the people and would not allow anyone to exploit the resources of Kashmiris wether water, land or power. He said that the conglomerate would continue to raise its voice to safeguard the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir
APHC Chairman said the corruption has ruined the government institutions. He said the government departments have become centres of corruption, adding, imposing additional taxes and raising power dues have broken the back of a common Kashmiri.
