Militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) Wednesday claimed that its one of its Mujahid Shakil Ahmed Kasana aka Obaidullah was killed by Jammu and Kashmir Police in a fake attack in Batamaloo Srinagar.

Hizbul Mujhadeen Operational Spokesperson Baleeg-u-Din told Kashmir based news gathering agency CNS on phone that Shakil Ahmed was a top rank militant of HM who was killed by Police in a fake encounter. “The attack was carried out in a planned way to silent our Mujahid once for all and we condemn this action of Kashmir police,” he said adding that Shakil Ahmed aka Obaidullah was a valiant militant who served the nation from the core of his heart.

He said that Shakil was not only the body guard of United Jihad Council Chairman Syed Salauhdin but an important member of his ‘Special Security Squad’. “He was arrested by Indian Security Agency last year and was killed in fabricated attack. Shakil had come know about the secrets of Indian Security Agencies during his detention and Kashmir police was afraid that after his release he might pass on information to HM militants,” Baleeg-u-Din told CNS.

He said that HM especially Syed Salahudin has expressed grief over his ‘murder’. “Our Mujahid faced various hardships in Indian jails and yet did not compromise. We salute and honour him,” he said.

“We are going to avenge the killing of Shakil Ahmed and others whom police kill in custody and in other fake encounters. HM will intensify now its attacks on Kashmir police and would avenge the killing of Shakil Ahmed,” he said
