SRINAGAR: Mujtaba Yousuf, the 19-year old left-arm Kashmiri fast bowler has performed impressively in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T-20 Trophy following which he has now been called for trials by Mumbai Indians for the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Yousuf, a resident of Bijbehara town of south Kashmir was sparkling with the ball for Jammu and Kashmir in the tournament bagging five wickets in four matches. Apart from knocking over batsmen, he was economical and bowled brilliant spells during J&K’s campaign in the tournament.

Yousuf has on Tuesday left for Mumbai to take part in the trials organised by the Mumbai Indians.

After not being included in the playing XI for the first game of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Mujtaba grabbed the opportunity by performing terrifically in the second match of the team.

Earlier, Mujtaba was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the IPL as a net bowler.

He has previously been part of India junior camps and made his senior debut for J&K last season.
