Hurriyat Conference (g) chairperson Syed Ali Geelani Tuesday slammed the Defence Minister Manohar Parriker for bashing Pakistan army.
While commenting over the statement of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar in which he had said, “if Kashmiris will come to know the cruelties of Pakistan army, they will never opt for that country”, Hurriyat Conference (g) said that knowing Pakistan army is the matter of future, “but the fact is that the Kashmiris are fully aware about the cruel, autocratic, barbaric and inhuman face of the Indian army”.
“From the last 68 years, Kashmiris are not only watching their criminal attitude but they are the worst victims of their terrorist acts and this army has killed lakhs of innocent Kashmiris so far, raped thousands of their daughters and sisters and destroyed their residential houses and other property worth billions of rupees,” Hurriyat (g) spokesperson said in a statement to KNS quoted Geelani as having said.
Hurriyat (g) said that the accusations of Parrikar on Pakistan army is based on “guesses and hypotheses” but if world will came to know about “the real and cruel face of Indian army in Kashmir”, this country will have to “face embarrassment on the international forums and it will lose its largest democracy mark”.
“The freedom struggle of Kashmiris is a home based movement and our nation is struggling for their birth and basic right – Right to Self Determination,” the Hurriyat (g) statement further said.
“We have no direct relationship with the Pakistan army but what the Indian army is doing to suppress our just and genuine demands, we are watching that with our own eyes and after watching this, our nation has decided that whatever will happen but we will not stay with this country and nor will we people ever accept the sovereignty of this country,” he said.
Hurriyat (g) added said, “the argument of Manohar Parriker is just a poetic imagination and as far as the people of Azad Kashmir are concerned.”
“He can’t present any solid proof in support of his argument. It is just a negative propaganda through which India wants to hide its war crimes and human rights violations in Jammu & Kashmir,” the statement said.
“Kashmiris only know that the Pakistan army has been a big supporter of their Right to Self Determination and they have never opposed the holding of referendum in Kashmir. There is no record of killing of any Kashmiri by the Pakistan army and they have always worked to protect the modesty of the Kashmiri daughters and sisters,” the statement further added.
While expressing his reaction over the infiltration statement of Parrikar, Hurriyat (g) said, “the rigid, arrogant and stubborn approach of India is the only reason behind the prevailing disharmony and disorder in Jammu & Kashmir. Kashmiri people do not want war they are peace loving people who have a long back policy of “live and let live.”
However, the statement said, “instead of showing any kind of respect for the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiris, India want to suppress them with the help of its military might and then a natural and normal reaction come to fore against these oppressive policies. Our youths and children leave their colleges and universities and opt for the ways of the brave hearts and pickup guns instead of pen and books.”
