The Twitterati on Tuesday roasted Peoples Democratic Party youth president Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, after he responded to a tweet by Pakistan’s star cricket Shahid Afridi. Afridi has a massive fan following in Kashmir.

Earlier in the day Afridi, famously known as Lala, had criticized the Indian state government for its oppressive measures on the people of Kashmir and also appealed the world bodies including the UN to intervene and help in stopping the bloodshed of Kashmiris.

Afridi tweeted: “Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the occupied Kashmir. Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self-determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren’t they making efforts to stop this bloodshed? (SIC)”

The tweet had evoked massive response across the social networking sites with people hailing the star cricketer and appreciating him for his tweet.

The PDP youth leader responded to Afridi by saying that he should be concerned about the human rights in his own country.

Parra tweeted: “Your own country is engulfed in human rights, fights terrorism and advocates same for the neighbour. There can’t be two sets of the definition. Preach to your own country, what you preach to the neighbour (SIC).”

Parra’s response did not apparently go well with the twitter and other social media users in Kashmir who hurled invectives on Parra and told him that he too was part of the “Indian and was helping in strengthening it.”
