Accusing NC and PDP of crossing all levels of hypocrisy, Independent leader and MLA Langate Er Rasheed on Sunday said that both the regional parties like other burning issues have failed the people of the state in ensuring justice for 8-year-old Aasifa who was raped and murdered in Kuthua.

The spokesman said that investigation should have taken the proper course of action at the very initial stage as not only the crime was heinous but to take measures whatsoever required was within the competence of state Government. “It looks so humiliating on part of PDP that Nayeen Akhter thanks Indian media for highlighting the Asifa’s issue, forgetting not only that Indian media maintained a criminal silence for three months but Nayeen Akhter and his party continued to succumb under BJP’s pressure, spokesman quotes Rasheed saying.

He added that PDP needs to be reminded that since it is Mehbooba Mufti who is heading the collation, as such she should have taken action against the ministers once the issue surfaced and there is no role of PDP in sacking the two ministers. In fact, the national media like other tragic and inhuman stories taking place in Kashmir would have preferred to keep mum had international media and organizations not started speaking over the issue. BJP after feeling the heat within and outside India sacked the ministers and it was by no means any step taken on moral grounds. Similarly, the role of Congress party has yet again proved to be dubious.

Rasheed questioned Omar Abdullah for thanking Prime Minister Narinder Modi for speaking few words over Kuthua Incident. “While PM Modi didn’t speak over any specific issue pertaining to rape and murder, Omar Abdullah should answer if Modi has done any special favour to Aasifa’s family or people of the state by speaking something which he should have spoken three months back. Both Mehbooba Mufti and Omer Abdullah being the main faces of mainstream politics should accept their failure and confess that nothing happens in Jammu & Kashmir unless New Delhi does not want and allow anything to happen.

May Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti answer why couldn’t their bosses in New Delhi show the same concern for Kunan Poshpora and Shopian heinous cases. May these two leaders answer why is entire J&K and humanity awaiting even for the first step to be taken to take culprits involved in Kunan Poshpora mass rape incident to task and why is Shopian case being thrown to the dustbin, Rasheed said.

He added that both the parties stand exposed and their helplessness is proved by the fact that nothing lies in their hands and they have not the worth and power to initiate action in even administrative issues which have nothing to do with India’s national interest.

“For continuous three months Mehbooba Mufti’s position was made miserable by not only BJP but all fanatic elements and political parties including Congress and panthers party only for the reason she was a Muslim Chief Minister and her every word was being seen through the communal prism.

SSP Kuthua, Suliman Chowdhary worked as a private servant for Lal Singh and other BJP leaders besides those of Ekta Manch. Suliman not only facilitated all sorts of protests by the goons and the ministers but prevented most of the people including elected representatives from the majority community from visiting the family of the victim. He must answer what he did from preventing the rallies of the goons and disallowing them disgracing the tri-colour on every occasion. Like many other officers hailing from the Muslim community, Suliman Chowdhary tried to prove himself more loyal than anyone to the communal forces in Jammu and as such action needs to be initiated against such police officers like him, who have failed to discharge their duties in accordance with the law.

Earlier Naeem Akhtar, minister of public works thanked the Indian Media for playing a role in Asifa’s case. “The most unfortunate Kathua incident has firmly established how our powerful media can become part of the solution in Kashmir. Empathy, compassion, justice, fair play.A big thank you @ArnobGoswami @sardesairajdeep @Nidhi @rahulkanwal @rahulpandita @BDUTT @TimesNow @MuzamilJALEEL,” Akhtar Tweeted.
