The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Inc) Friday held a meeting with the Secretary Tourism Farooq Ahmad Shah in Srinagar.

In a statement issued here, the Chamber appreciated the initiatives already taken by the government for promotion of the tourism the issues and the problems faced by the houseboat owners, hoteliers and tour, travel agents and all other tourism players and the need for taking up the issue regarding operating the chartered flights for Srinagar destination in peak tourist season by state tourism players was discussed in the meeting.

“The Secretary Tourism assured that new initiatives like good number of road-shows will be held within the country to enhance the domestic tourism. The J&K will be made a round the year tourist destination. The government will make all possible efforts to promote religious tourism in to the state and Kashmir festivals will be held outside and within the state,” the statement said.
