A residential house was damaged in a fire incident in Srinagar while one person died in a road accident, police said Saturday evening.

Fire broke out in the residential house of Ali Mohammad Wani resident of Pamposh colony Noorbagh Safakadal, resulting in partial damage to the house. Fire tenders brought fire under control with the help of police and locals. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident.

One person died while two others were injured in two separate road accidents in Handwara and Kulgam.

In Handwara, a Wagon-R car hit and injured a lady Jabeena Begum wife of Bashir Ahmed War at Umer Colony Magam. The injured was shifted to District Hospital Handwara for treatment where doctors declared her brought dead.

After completion of medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.

In Kulgam, a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02AX/6459 driven by Reyaz Ahmad Kumar resident of Dirsha Pala Banihal collided with a motorcycle bearing registration number JK18/2837 driven by Rouf Ahmad Reshi resident of Lammar near walnut Factory Levdoora Qazigund.

In this accident the motorcyclist and pillion mate Syed Ulfat Ahmad resident of Brein Dawlat Abad were injured. Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
