SRINAGAR: Within months after former Jammu and Kashmir lawmaker, Balwant Singh Mankotia deserted Bhim Singh’s Panthers Party, Arvind Kejriwal sacked him. He has been accused of “anti-party” activities and trying to influence others to join other parties, reports appearing in the media said.

Two Former MLAs, 4 DDC Members from Jammu and Kashmir joined Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi on April 8, 2022.

Mankotia had deserted Panthers in April 2022 to join the AAP at a time when Bhim Singh was seriously compromised for health reasons. He was the Panthers President at the time of resignation.

Reports appearing in the media said the AAP has accused Mankotia of not participating in any party activity for three months.

“It has come to our knowledge that you are involved in anti-party activities, mainly engaging with other national and regional political parties in J&K, not engaging or participating in any of the party’s political activities and not performing any task given by the party for the last three months,” AAP election in-charge Harjot Singh Bains has said in a letter to Mankotia. “Your basic membership with AAP stands terminated from September 23.”

Rubbishing the allegations mentioned in the letter Mankota has said that he was never a primary member of AAP as I didn’t sign any document after joining it. “Outsiders are controlling the J&K unit of AAP,” he alleged, insisting that after witnessing the activities of the party, he “remained silent and had not been an active member” of any of the AAP events.
