Feeling embarrassed with the open infighting in the party, Congress has final switched into damage control mode possibly to sort out the differences between the senior leaders particularly Taj Mohi ud din and Sham Lal Sharma.

Highly placed sources told a local news agency, KNS that with the intervention of AICC President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Senior leader and Medical Education Minster Taj Mohiud din on Tuesday met PCC Chief Prof Saifud Din Soz at his 12 Akbar road residence in New Delhi. This was the first meeting between the two leaders since PHE Minster Sham Lal Sharma who is considered a close aid of Soz accused Taj of malpractices in PHE during his (Taj’s) tenure.

“Taj met Prof Soz at his official residence in New Delhi during which both the leaders discussed various issues including the fall out of the controversy between Taj and Sham”, sources told KNS. They added, that both the leaders agreed to work together for strengthening of the party in the state.

The sources further added that Taj drove to Soz’s residence soon after meeting Sonia Gandhi. It is believed that Sonia has directed all the top leaders in the state to sort out the differences without any delay so that the party could be prepared for the next year’s elections. Congress has already sent out feelers of going alone in the elections triggering a political storm in the state ahead of the Polls.

If Congress sources are to be believed, various top leaders including Dy Chief Minster Tara Chand, Senior Vice president Advocate Muzafer Paray, Taj Mohi ud din, and district Presidents including Mohammad Amin Khan, Ab Gani Khan, Gulzar Ahamd Wani, Mohammad Abdulah Nadaf, Mohamamd Maqbool, Mohammad Sultan Mandoo, Zahid Hussain Jan and Tufail Ahmad Jan were camping in New Delhi possibly to be part of the process for preparation of the next 2014 elections.

“The congress high command is in no mood to tolerate the internal bickering in the state congress, and have directed all the top leaders to sort out the differences immediately”, maintained sources said, who added, that it was possibly this direction, that various leaders including those who have been known for anti- Soz stand have been meeting him (Soz) for last couple of weeks.

When contacted Taj Mohi ud din confirmed to KNS his meeting with Soz, and said that he discussed the party affairs with the JKPCC President.
