SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (KPDCL) on Wednesday announced a scheduled power outage on January 2 in the Baramulla and Sopore areas to facilitate maintenance and upgrade work.
According to a communiqué, the planned shutdown will stabilise the Amargarh (Sadiq Colony Tap 33KV Line) from 9 am to 3 pm. This will affect the hospital, Model Town, Kapra, and Noorbagh areas of Sopore.
Similarly, the Sheeri Grid Station (Baramulla-I and Baramulla-II) will remain shut from 11 am to 2 pm for the replacement of damaged poles and construction facilitation at Lalad Amargarh. The affected areas include Kanlibagh, GMC Baramulla, Old Town, and Janbazpora in Baramulla.
The Delina Grid Station (Delina-Sopore) will be shut from 10 am to 3 pm for maintenance work. The affected areas include Sopore-II, Kranshivan Colony, Amargarh, and Zonal Bank.
The shutdown is weather-dependent and will follow all safety protocols. Residents in the affected areas are advised to plan accordingly, the communiqué reads. (KNO)
