SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns in various regions of Jammu and Kashmir to facilitate branch cutting, pruning of trees, and upgradation of high-tension power lines.
According to the Chief Engineer of KPDCL, the shutdown of the 33KV Potushai Aloosa line will be observed on 23 May from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM, affecting power supply from the 33/11KV Receiving Station at Aloosa. Areas to be impacted include Aloosa, PHE, Quail, Malangam, and adjoining localities including the BB Cant Tap Line.
On 24 May, a similar outage is scheduled for the 33KV Potushai Nadihal and Ajar lines, resulting in a shutdown of Receiving Stations at Ajar, Nusoo, Naidhal, Panzigam, and Ajas. Affected areas will include Nusoo, Naidhal, Ajas, Garoora, Papchan, Nishat, Argam, Ajar, Arin, Saderkoot, Sadnara, and Authwatoo from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM.
Power supply from the 33KV Potushai Gurez line will also be disrupted on 25, 27, and 29 May, affecting Receiving Stations at Dawar and Gurez, and impacting Dawar, Wanpora, Tragbal, NHPC, and surrounding areas between 10:00 AM and 04:00 PM.
In a separate notification, the Chief Engineer’s office also confirmed that to facilitate the upgradation of the 33KV Wanpoh SICOP line from 0.1 ACSR to 0.2 ACSR, a shutdown will take place on 22, 24, and 26 May from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM. This will affect power supply from Receiving Stations at Shamsipora, SICOP, Zirpara, Veer, and Cheeniwadder, impacting Shamsipora, SICOP, Bijbehara, Darigund, Kanelwan, Veer, Zirpara, Jablipora, Srigufwara, and adjoining localities.
KPDCL has advised residents in affected areas to make necessary arrangements and cooperate with the field staff to ensure smooth execution of essential maintenance and development work.
