SRINAGAR: A district-wide crackdown on traffic violations by the Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) Kulgam on Friday led to the issuance of 174 challans, seizure of 30 vehicles, and imposition of fines amounting to Rs 1.65 lakh.
During the enforcement, over 300 vehicles were checked at multiple locations across the district. Officials reported that 174 challans were issued for various motor vehicle rule violations, while 30 vehicles were seized for lacking valid documents. Fines totalling Rs 1.65 lakh were imposed.
Additionally, 14 drivers were served with notices recommending the suspension of their driving licences for repeated or serious infractions. A total of 43 vehicles were blacklisted due to expired or forged documentation, and 12 vehicles were issued notices for suspension of route permits.
