A complete shutdown is being observed Monday in Kashmir against the civilian and militant killings at Frisal, Yaripora area of Kulgam district.

The shutdown call was given be joint resistance leaders including Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik.

Two civilians, two army men and four local militants were killed in Frisal village on Sunday and scores were injured in clashes between the forces and protesters who had come to area in large numbers to “rescue” the hiding militants.

All shops and business establishments are closed while as attendance in the government offices was thin due to non availability of transport.

Reports of shutdown have come from across Kashmir.
