Hours after a youth, Arif Ahmad Bhat of Nutnusa village in Kupwara district, was killed, in army firing, the latter said that it was “forced to open controlled fire”.
PRO Defence Col NN Joshi told KNS: “Army exercised maximum restraint inspite of pelting by a large crowd. Only when the mob stormed the army post, army was forced to open controlled fire in which some miscreants were injured.”
