SRINAGAR: A labourer tragically lost his life on Wednesday after a water tank fell on him in the Wanabal, Nowgam area of Srinagar, officials reported.
An official said that the labourer sustained severe injuries when a 1,000-litre water tank fell during shifting operations, trapping him underneath.
The injured man was immediately taken to the nearest hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. His body has been transferred to SMHS Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The deceased has been identified as Mohd Jamal Mir, son of Ab Samad, a resident of Handwara. He was reportedly working at the site when the accident occurred. Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further proceedings.
