SRINAGAR: The Ladakh administration has ordered the transfer and posting of 27 Medical Officers, consultants and NHM doctors across various health institutions in the Union Territory with immediate effect.
The orders were issued by the Health and Medical Education Department under Order No. 55-LA-H and ME of 2026, dated September 5, in the interest of administration and with the approval of the competent authority.
Among the Medical Officers transferred, Dr Fatima Bano, Medical Superintendent at QAAM Hospital, Kargil, has been posted as Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kargil, while Dr Farhana Iqbal, District Immunization Officer, Leh, has been appointed Medical Superintendent of QAAM Hospital, Kargil.
Dr Rinchen Angmo, NCD Consultant, NHM, has been posted as District Immunization Officer, Leh, with additional charge of NCD, NHM. Dr Jigmet Wangchuk, Medical Officer at PHC Sakti, has been appointed Director, ABDM, NHM, with additional charge of Medical Officer at UPHC, Leh.
The department has also transferred Dr Sajjad Hussain from BMO Drass to BMO Kargil, Dr Abdul Jalil from BMO Kargil to BMO Zanskar, and Dr Javed Ahmad from BMO Khaltsi to BMO Leh. Dr Stanzin Noryang, Medical Officer (Homeopathy) at SNM Hospital, Leh, has been posted as Deputy Director, AYUSH.
Several consultants have also been moved between hospitals and health centres.
Dr Stanzin Angmo, Consultant Gynaecologist at SNM Hospital, Leh, has been posted to PHC Nyoma, while Dr Ayesha Malo has been transferred from SNM Hospital, Leh, to QAAM Hospital, Kargil. Dr Stanzin Dolker, also a Consultant Gynaecologist at SNM Hospital, Leh, has been posted to CHC Khaltsi.
Dr Khatisha Bano, Consultant at SDH Nubra, has been transferred to SNM Hospital, Leh, while Dr Padma Ladol, Consultant Gynaecologist at CHC Khaltsi, has also been posted to SNM Hospital, Leh.
The order further includes postings of paediatricians, surgeons, radiologists, orthopaedic specialists, anaesthetists and a dental surgeon at various health facilities in Leh and Kargil.
Among them, Dr Tsering Norphel, Consultant Paediatrician at SNM Hospital, Leh, has been posted to DH Khaltsi, while Dr Spalchen Gonbo, Consultant Paediatrician at CHC Khaltsi, has been posted to SNM Hospital, Leh.
Dr Anwar Hussain, Consultant Paediatrician at QAAM Hospital, Kargil, has been posted to DH Padum, Zanskar, while Dr Sajjad Hussain, Consultant Surgeon at QAAM Hospital, Kargil, has been transferred to SDH Drass.
Dr Maneesha Badwal, Consultant Radiologist at SNM Hospital, Leh, has been posted to QAAM Hospital, Kargil.
The department has also ordered postings of consultants and NHM specialists at DH Diskit, Nubra; DH Khaltsi; SNM Hospital, Leh; and QAAM Hospital, Kargil, among other health facilities.
Consequent upon the transfers, the CMO Drass will hold the additional charge of BMO Drass, while the CMO Khaltsi will hold the additional charge of BMO Khaltsi, until further orders.
