A lady hanged herself to death in Budgam while a youth in Baramulla District attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance last evening, a police statement said Sunday afternoon.
“A lady (name with held) and resident of Hardu Panzoo Chopan Mohalla , Beerwah hanged herself to death at her home. Police have started investigation under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of her suicide. After completing all legal formalities police handed over the body of deceased to her relatives for last rites, the statement said.
In an attempt to end his life, Javid Ahmad Lone resident of Jalal Sahab Baramulla consumed some poisonous substance at his home. He was shifted to District Hospital, Baramulla where from he has been referred to SKIMS Soura Srinagar for further treatment, the statement added.
Police have registered a case and investigation has been taken up to ascertain the cause of his suicide attempt.
