Welcoming high court judgement that honour and dignity of state flag should be restored at all costs and the observations made that replacing Sadar-e-Riyasat by governor was against constitution, MLA Langate Er Rasheed Sunday asked all the political parties to respect the observations of the High Court which also “reflects the sentiments of the people” of the state, through a “specific prospective”, to rectify the error.

In a statement issued today, he said, “the detailed judgement and the observations passed by the court should act as the eye opener and state legislature should not waste a minute to take out the necessary measures to rectify the mistakes made in the past.” “I have decided to bring a bill in the coming assembly session to make the necessary amendments so that the huge errors done are rectified. It is high time for all the political parties to support the bill without excuses and explanations. The restoration of Sardar-e-Riyasat and post of Prime Minister would not mean a permanent solution to the dispute of Jammu and Kashmir but will be an act to respect the court orders and a move to satisfy the sentiments of masses from a particular prospective.”

Rashid added that the verdict about the state flag needs also to be implemented in letter and spirit and the judgement has “demolished the efforts of Sang Parivar that there has to be ‘Ek Pradhan, Ek Vidhan aur Ek Nishan’.”
